Indonesia plans to export of extra tempeh

Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita has stated Indonesia will export extra tempeh to Hong Kong, South Korea and a couple of Middle Eastern countries wherein many Indonesians live.

"We are in search of technology to prolong the shelf life," Anggartiasto stated in Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday, including that he would speak the plan with members of the Association of Indonesian Tempeh and Tofu Producers (Gakoptindo).

Meanwhile, Gakoptindo Ayip Syarifuddin welcomed the government’s plan, saying that tempeh producers had been in a position to growth production to meet the probably call for increase.

"Our merchandise have met the requirements for export, in phrases of best and quantity," he stated as quoted by using way of Antara information agency, including that the association had exported the meals product but had now not optimized latest markets.

He stated the govt had supplied producers with technology that might assist prolong the shelf life of tempeh to 306 days and even one year, depending on packaging.
